Here is the compilation of this week’s installment, a spontaneous late Monday night dinner at Burger Bach on 9th Street…

The Editor (that’s me) is dining alone tonight. I’ve been digging on #mezcal lately, so I’m getting the Mezcal Memories cocktail to start. It’s the right amount of smokey + citrus. And it’s pretty. Verdict: I dig it. Hard. pic.twitter.com/MquWWKQUgS

Got some oysters. I’m going to ride the surf & turf train tonight. These oysters are big and meaty, served with all available sauces. #livefooding #durhambeat pic.twitter.com/spGCZ3nA8Y

Oysters are tasty indeed. But. They could be shucked a little cleaner… Now, I’m not the most adventurous eater of the #durhambeat staff, but I did beast those oysters raw af. #livefooding pic.twitter.com/SDOTbh4axZ

The real challenge is deciding which burger. In my experience, the lamb burgers at this place are amazing, consistently. But I’m in the mood for something a bit more usual… Hmm… #choices #livefooding #durhambeat pic.twitter.com/Y8EdEUzQLr

That Mezcal cocktail was super boss. All cocktails are $9 here and they know how to make em mean… Good deal. Good drink. #livefooding #durhambeat

I asked the bartender to pick a beer he thinks will go well with the burger I got. I watched him toil over by the taps, meticulously tasting a few until he poured @UplandBrewCo Prim, a sour, heavy on the cardamom. He says it will pair nicely with the original sauce. Let’s see… pic.twitter.com/jIIN21gViu

I got The Original Burger, classic bacon cheeseburger. And damn dude. He was right about the beer. The spice in the beer and the original sauce in the burger make for a party. This bartender has got some serious game. #livefooding #durhambeat pic.twitter.com/GED5yUpPlb

I finished my plate y’all. I destroyed that burger (and the side salad). Wow. I’m definitely going to sleep well tonight after a meal like that… #livefooding #durhambeat pic.twitter.com/DUlWte6OhM

Verdict: the Original Burger at @BurgerBach is delectable, filling, and totally worth the $. The cocktails are heady af. The oysters are good, just need better shucking. They have an impressive beer menu, complete with a large selection of locals. I’ma be back. Again. And again.
